In 1880 Hamilton county Texas census I show a susan deaton age 28

susan is shown born in ala and children born in Tx. Hattie was my ggm. My gm said her father was an "outlaw" as were his brothers and he was shot to death. His name was suppsedly George. I did not find family in 1870 Hamilton cty census, though a Calvin Deaton with a different family is listed. Does anyone know about this family
