Looking for any information on Elizabeth Howard Deaton (Unknown Deaton) who is listed in the 1880 cenus as living with her mother and three brothers, along with her two children, Richard, born abt. 1876 and Anna born abt. 1878 in Fourmile Township, Polk County, Iowa.
I believe i have found Richard as being a patient or inmate in the Topeka State Hospital in Topeka, Kansas in both the 1920 and 1930 census. This was a hospital for the insane or mentally handicapped. I find no further info on him and have not located his mother and sister after 1880. There is a great chance she remarried.
