Hello. My name is Cathy Hammond (nee Kidd). My father, Roy Patrick Kidd, is the son of Flora Belle Deaton and Clarence Kidd from Whitley City, Kentucky. McCreary County. It seems that Flora met my grandfather, Clarence, at the McCreary County jail where she used to work as a cook for the jail's inmates.
I would like to find out why my grandmothers parents gave her to the Beulah Heights orphanage when she was a child, and if possible find out what their names are and where they are from. Any help would be appreciated.
