James Emsley W. Deaton, MS and TX, 1840-1870?

Does anyone have any information on James E.W. Deaton? Based on family stories, I am fairly certain that he is my great-great grandfather.

He was born in Iredell County, NC in 1840 (son of William Wesley and Ruth Allen Deaton). and died in Texas. He served in the 26th Miss. Inf. Regiment during the Civil War.
