I'm not sure if anyone ever reads this forum anymore or not, but if so, I'm hoping someone can help me...
I am trying to trace myself back... to, well... as far as possible... ;-)
Here is how far I have gotten...
I am...
son of Steven Lyn Deaton (1947-), who is...
son of Leroy Deaton (1925-1985), who is...
son of Roy S Deaton (1897-1951), who is...
son of Alonzo Jackson Deaton (1864-1920), who is...
son of John D Deaton (born around 1830...???)...
That is as far as I have gotten... I see 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920 census info noting name, residence, birth, and I think a couple other things... that is how I am tying Alonzo to John D... but the only things I can find that go any farther back mention a John D that was born in 1807...
Could what I see about the first John D be wrong for the year? ...or maybe there are 2 John D. Deatons? I know there was Senior, so this was probably Junior... not sure...
