Diana, this is what I have. I'm from the line of Lewis T. Deaton, son of John D. Deaton, Sr.
4. John D. Deaton, Sr. born 1766, Chatham Co., NC, married Ca. 1785, in
Lancaster Co., SC, Isabella Brantley, born Ca. 1769, Lee Co., VA, died
1850-1860, Wolf Coal, Breathitt Co., Kentucky. John died 1844-1850, Clay
or Owsley, near Wolf Coal(town),KY. Believe that Isabella Brantley was
related to the Lewis Family. She named a son Lewis. A James Lewis who went
to the North Fork of the Kentucky river in now Breathitt County, in 1804.
Not sure about the middle initial "D" for John's name. NO PROOF! A Lewis
Brantley, 1 WM 16 yrs&up, 3 WM 16 yrs. or less and 3 WFM, lived south of
the preceeding in Halifax Dist. of Nash County. About 50 miles east of
Chatham CO., NC. Isabella: Isabella Deaton named some of her
sons none traditional Deaton names, Lewis and Brantley, I think they were
family names on her family line. Back on the eastern shore of Virginia in
early times, a Lewis girl married a Brantley. At the time Deatons were in
the same area. Later in North Carolina at the time John and Isabella would
marry, both Deatons and Brantleys were in the same area of North Carolina.

1840-1850. Nancy: Nancy Harper is from some record that I
can't find the record of. It may be from information from
Charles Ray Deaton (now dec'd) of Des Moines, Iowa.

vi Joseph Deaton born Ca. 1797.
10. vii Mary Deaton born 1800-1801.
viii Deliah Deaton born Ca. 1803, NC, married Joseph Spencer.
Joseph Spencer is named spouse on Dolores D. Nader's records. I
have John Spencer Sr. on mine. JDC
ix Jemima Deaton born 1805 or 1793?, married William Strong Jr..
11. x John "Buck" Deaton Jr. born 1807.
xi Phoebe (Possible child) Deaton born ?1815, married George
Boling. Phoebe's husband, George
Boling, witnessed a deed for John Deaton and Isabella his wife,
in Lee County, Va.. See Geogre Boling, #2348. George: George
Boling was the co-witness with John Deaton Jr. on the Lee
County Deed 1 June, 1844, between John Deaton and Isabella
Deaton, his wife, of the County of Breathitt and State of
Kentucky and John Pennington of Lee County.
xii Levi Deaton born 1801, married Cinda Ingram.
6. William Deaton born Ca. 1795, Lee Co.,VA, married 29-Nov-1820, in Clay
Co., Kentucky, Mary "Polly" Ayres, born Ca. 1805, VA, died after 1860.
William died 1830, Hendricks Co., IN. William was probably the first born
son and named after his grandfather William Deaton. That was the Deaton
naming pattern. Mentioned as being John Deaton's son in Dr. John J.
Dickey's Diary. Also found in direct descendants information. Mary: Her
Father was Henry Ayers
