Hi I am looking for any info on Braxton Deatherage who died in 1801 in Rowan County NC. This is after Surry County and Stokes County had split off from Rowan in 1770.
I am interested because I had a tip that John Hunter of Rowan married 1st a Deldridge.
not being able to find any Deldrindges in Rowan at that time I looked in the index of the wills and found Braxton Deatherage. The researcher who told me Deldridge said she wasn't sure of the spelling.
John Hunter had a son born 1810 Braxton Douglas Hunter. Before this son there were no Braxtons in the family and after this there are several.
does anyone know who this Braxton Deatherage is and also there are estate papers for another Braxton Deatherage died 1810 in Rowan.
Any help will be appreciated.
by the way one of the witnesses of Braxton Deatherages will in 1800 was Benjamin Willson who was very tight with the Hunter family.
