I have Thomas Burgin (son of Dennis Burgin [1743-1821] and Jane ____) born ca 1770, married Lucy Deatherage (daughter of Achilles Deatherage and Anne Lewis) May 13, 1789, died testate 1831, survived by his wife who died in 1841. Their children were (1) Allen born ca 1793, married Emily Hinds November 12, 1825, six children, (2) John Burgin (my ancestor) born ca 1793, married Mary Howard March 23, 1821, 7 children, died June 17, 1856, (3) Achilles born 1798, married Amelia (Emily) Lanham December 5, 1830, 12 children, died 1865, (4) Cynthia Burgin born ca 1802, married Zachariah Crews January 30, 1840, no information about children (5) Elizabeth Burgin born ca 1807 died ca 1844 apparently without issue and never having been married, (6) Temple Burgin born October 20, 1805, married Sophia Oldham Dec. 26, 1836, 12 children, died May 8, 1884, the town of Burgin, Kentucky is named for him, (7) Elias Burgin, born ca 1811, married Mary Chenault Dec. 5, 1839, four children, maybe more, died May 16, 1865, (8) Jane Burgin, born ca 1794-1800, married John Winburn February 26, 1818, children, if any, are unknown to me, died before 1829, (9) probably Easom, a male child who died before ever being married.
