"Two sons of Mrs. Modie Deatherage, of Mt. Airy, Route 2 are now in armed
service. They are Sergeant Willie Deatherage (left) now at Eglin Field,
Fla., with the army air force; and Seaman Second Class Ernest Deatherage
(right), now somewhere in the North Atlantic with the U.S. Navy."
