I believe this is Jesse, son of Bird and Maggie M James orginally from Madison County Kentucky. Bird and Maggie were married in Madison County 14 Sept 1899 and Bird passed away in 1904 .
While the Margaret you mention is given as Margaret M. Reynolds in 1930 and has her son (?) Jesse Deatherage (age 29 divorced) living with her and husband Samuel A Reynolds, Jesse was not with them in 1920 ( no children were). The 1930 also indicates that Margaret and Samuel were married about 1918 ( based on ages at marriage indicated on census)
Jesse has a death record Fayette County, died 21 Dec 1957 age of 57, you may or may not be able to order this from the county courthouse. You might try ordering death record , if not yet obtainable try viewing films at library for obit, both may be very helpful to you.
