Hi Tony,
I have read the stories before ( very interesting by the way), what I was wondering is if you had tried the land records (BLM) along with a plat map and narrowed down where Henry Nettle's land was located by using the descriptions? James Morris last appearence on the 1870 census has him living by Henry Nettles (the elder) in Spring Valley twp. I can find two land records for James F. Morris and several for Henry P. Nettles (and some for Alfred Deatherage too). I have a hand drawn map that a Deatherage made and left with some of the Summers, Chilton, and Deatherage places marked on it, but it does not include any markings for the Morris or Nettles on it.
