I believe this Philip was the son of John born 1737 died 1807 in Stokes Co., NC, m 1758 in VA to Sarah Edwards Gale, according to data I have in my files. Phillip married Milly Merry 1792. According to Vivian Wheeler (she and her family did volumes of Deatherage research) Philip D died in 1829 Macoupin Co, IL. He owned land in several counties around in IL and some in Todd Co., KY. Philip was b 1763, and is buried in Morgan Co., IL. His children were:
1 Nancy who m Jesse Cheek
2 Elizabeth who m Coleman Deatherage (son of George and Milly Bingham Deatherage)
3 Sally who m a Stambaugh
4 Lewis who m Patsey Deatherage (dau of John D and Sally Cloud - (John was the son of George & Milly)
5 Stephen P. who m Patsey Deatherage 1831(Patsey the widow of his brother Lewis)
