Hello!
Searching for parents of Cassy Anne Deas born abt. 1827 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. There is a Casey Deas born 1834 listed in 1850 Chesterfield County Census as a daughter of Dempsey Deas but I'm not sure because of the age differences?
Cassy Deas was the 2nd wife of Charles Chapman 1798-1865, he was married first to Elizabeth Nancy Dewitt.
Cassy Deas & Charles Chapman had two sons being Fuller Chapman born 1863 & Henry Brockington Chapman born 1866. Cassy (Deas) Chapman shows up on the 1870 & 1880 Darlington County census.
I suspect that she is the daughter of Dempsey Deas with age discrepencies??
By the way........there is a large group of Deas families living in Chesterfield County, SC.
