Can you help in my search for parents and previous history of James Dermont or Dearmond, born Calton Barony, Lanark, Scotland abt 1770. Phonetic spellings abound although it is known that the name and family descend from Chateauvieux-D'Armand of 16c. Dauphine Province, France. There could be a Canadian connection before England and Scotland.
