The above gentleman is my ggggreat grandfather and I strongly suspect he was a Patriot (his brother, Thomas Monroe Dearman is recognized by the Daughters of the American Revolution). He lived in Anson County, North Carolina during the war and was a landowner. He may have been a purveyor to the troops or may have actually served himself. Any ideas?
