Thanks to a good friend and researcher, Deason Hunt, I am posting this last bit of informaiton from Wood County records. Funeral services for J. C. Dearmon were handled by the McCrary-Waggoner-Edwards funeral home in Winnsboro.
This company has been suceeded by the Beaty Funeral Home, which holds the records. The date of death, in their records matches the date for J. C.'s death certificate. His obituary however list his age at 78, instead iof 72. A Card of Thanks also appears in the Winnsoro Weekly News, which reads in part, "deepest appreciation of the many kind deeds and friendly acts shown us in the loss of our dear husband, father, and grandfather." The names included here of Mrs. J. C. (Laura) Dearmon, who is the widow; Mrs. Ola Sims (daughter) who previously was married to Joseph A. Goss, who was deceased, she was now married to a Sims.; W. C. Dearmon (son Wayanl Christian); Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Thompson (Ruth)daughter of Joseph A. and Ola (DeArmon) Goss, and the wife of Arthur Erastus Thompson; Mr. and Mrs Jimmie Walker (Ruth, daughter of Jos. A. and Ola (DeArmon) Goss; and, Mrs. Cora Hart (who is probably Cora Viola Goss, who married first to a Mr. Hart and secondly J. C. Smythe. It would appear that the Hattie Dearman that I mentioned earlier, is not directly related to J. C. Goss.
