James Columbus DeArmon

First, I am not a DeArmon descendant. I have been helping a chuch member with her genealogy. James Columbus DeArmon died on May 6, 1944 at near Winnsboro, Wood County, Texas.
His death certificate gives his father as "Jot". His mother is listed as unknown. His wife (at least his second)was named Laura. He was buried in the Little Hope Cemetery. I have checked the cemetery books for Wood County and his grave is not marked. I have located J. C. DeArmon only on the 1920 census residing in Van Zandt County, Texas. J. C. age 55, shows born in Texas (as does his death certificate); wife Laura aged 43 (she supplied the information on his death certificate). Laura was married previously to a Gilbrath. They had two Gilbrath children in the household, a son George age 6, and daughter Emma aged 1. I have been to Van Zandt County and there are few records there. There is a marriage for a Hattie Dearman marrying in 1915 to R. E. Scogin (probably Ross E. Scogin). Hattie died in 1925, in Denton County. Two of J. C.'s children resided in Van Zandt County, Texas. W. C., who appears in a seperate household on the 1920 census; and Ola (Rosa Viola), who married Joseph Andrew Goss. Hopefully, this might provide some clues to the DeArmon researchers of this branch of the family.
