I have a publication from which I quote:
REBECCA DEARMAN, who was born ca. 1793, daughter of SOLOMON DEARMAN and MARY BRIGHAM, is believed to have married SOLOMON NEWSOM in South Carolina ca. 1811. SOLOMON NEWSOM moved his family from St. Clair Co. Alabama, to Pickens Co., Ala. before 1830h; they are shown in the 1830 Pickens Co. census.
In 1840, SOLOMON NEWSOM was listed in the 1840 census of Lauderdale Co. Miss., with his wife:
Solomon Newsom, age 50-60, born 1780-1790
wife age 40-50 born 1790-1800.

I hope this helps you. I have other information on these people, and will be glad to share.
