Jim, just read your inquiry tonight, and have some questions. Maybe we can help each other.

My wife has a ggg grandfather named John Dear Sr. who was born about 1785 and died about 1861. His father was Joseph Dear who was married to Patience (?). Then his father was John Dear married to Jael (?)

I don't have much on them other than what I have been given by family members.

However, our John Dear Sr.'s son was Wesley Dear b. 1828 in Miss. and died about 1881, and was married to Mary Ann White. Their son was John Wesley Dear who was b. Jan. 1, 1857 in Goldswaite, TX and died July 25, 1940, in Troy,Johnston Co., OK, and was married to Mary Martha Adeline Roles. They had many children, but my wife decends thru their daughter Addie Marie Dear who married Sidney Pearson Eason. They are both burried in Troy , OK, also.

Their daughter was Betty Jo Eason who married my wife's dad B. T. Peden - both of them are burried in Troy, OK, also.

Does any of this fit your John Dear Sr.? And if so, can you share how we might fit into your research.

Thanks for the help. Hope I have helped? This is about all I know on the subject.

Calvin Durham
