I have verified that the R.L. (Ransom L.) Deen in Conecuh County, AL, is not the Richard Deen (b. 1760 NC d. 1840 GA) of Laurens County’s son Ransom. Richard’s son Ransom was in the 1820 census for Laurens County, GA, with a wife and child. The Ransom who went to Conecuh showed up in Alabama in 1816, again in 1818, and had a wife and children that do not match up with the Laurens census. The Conecuh Ransom’s oldest child was born in 1824, too young to have been in the 1820 Laurens' census.
