Hi, I'm Joan Stewart-Koster, a descendant of George Deans who arrived in Dunedin NZ on the "Henrietta" in 1860. (We live near Toowoomba, Qld, Australia.)

My ancestor George was born ca 1803 in Berwickshire, died 1882 in Dunedin NZ, married in 1825 Catherine Trotter - (Trotter?). They had four children: Alexander (1830); John; Ellen; & Charles Deans(1845)- my gr.gr.grandfather.

My ancestor George was 79 when he died, in 1882, as did his wife, both in Dunedin, hence the circa 1803 birth date. I'm in the process of getting their death certificates. There are quite a few descendants from them.
