I have recently visited Nicholas Abbey and can confirm that Thaddeus Deane was manager of that estate from 1879 to 1922, I think (dates may not be exact).
The currnet owners of Nicholas Abbey have several pictures of Deane family members connected to Nicholas Abbey, and these will be on display quite shortly. The estate is open to the public.
