I have gone as far back as John Deane who married a woman by the name of Cathirine on the male side of the family. That was about a year back. I have been spending time on my mother's side of the family in my spare time and... well, let's just say, it is aging me. You would think the US information would be easier to find!
I am hoping to get to Barbados in the next year or two and I am sure I will be more successful finding information on the Porter's and Hollingsworth's. It may help locate ancestors in London.
So far I have not had to subscribe to any pay sites but those days are coming to an end. I can send you the information I have on Richard Allen Deane's family if you wish. He had 6 childred so the family gets quite large for a generation.
I had heard that the Morman's have a really good genealogy site, maybe this summer I will spend some time on it.
It's nice meeting you and hopefully we can help each other as new information is found.
