Thank you for the reply. Richard Adolphus Deane had three children: Harold, Carmen and Richard Allan Deane. I noticed there were only 2 children listed from Richard and Emily. The missing child from your lists is my grandfather Richard Allan Deane - who had his middle named changed by immigration. His birth name was also Richard Adolphus Deane. I believe he came to the US before Ellis Island opened up. My grandfather had 6 children and I can forward those names to you if you are interested in that side of the family. Carmen Deane only went by the name of Daisy and I remember my father Winston Harold Deane spoke of her and Aunt Roselle many times. 'Aunt Daisy' was kind of the snobish one in the family apparently because she married into money (the Dash family).
One of Daisy's son's Allen Dash had a son named Sam Dash who was the chief prosecutor in the Watergate scandle. I will get together some pictures and e-mail them to you. It is a shame my mother pass on a few years back because she was a whip with 'the family'.
It was a pleasure going through the family tree set up on your website. I was hitting a dead end on anything before Barbados.
One of the stories about our Great-great Grandfather Richard Adolphus Deane was that he was asked to take the position of governor in Barbados. He refused the position because it meant losing his pension from the lighthouse. At that time some of the family changed their name from Deane to Dean. I haven't come across anything supporting that yet but all the other historical stories have been acurate so far.
