Hi: I am NOT a Deane, but I share ancestry with Silas Deane, vindicated Revolutionary War Hero, through three ancestors. He was accused of financial misdealings during the Revolution and discredited. Congress approved a resolution in the 1840's that vindicated him and gave recognition to his efforts during the revolution.
The url is: http://members.tripod.com/ntgen/bw/part_deane.html I am also curious as to his wives. I know one was Elizabeth Saltonstall, but he was married twice and don't know anything about his other wife. I don't have much on his mother or descendants either. Also, if anyone has any info on his cousin Oxenbridge Thacher, who was quite involved in events leading up to the Revolution, I would appreciate anything there. The lineage I have for Silas Deane, which I invite you to critique, is mostly from the Powers-Banks Genealogy of 1921, with some references to Thacher and Saltonstall genealogy mixed in.
