Charelene, I met Clyde in April as I toured the Pennsylvania home of the Deals.Clyde was wonderful, though blind. He shared much with me.He admits that it is only conjecture that the Deals came from Deal England. No data or facts I guess.Interesting is that as Peter Deal Sr lived in Shepherdstown, WV, that they attended a German Lutheran church, that his wife's surname is Stein, and that most other neighbors were german. In the Lutheran church history book in Shepherdstown, where Deal baptisms are noted, and donations to the church recorded, the book is all in German.Leads me to assume that Peter Deal and Margaret Stein Deal may have been German rather than English. (Also interesting to note that Peter and Margaret's name in the book are spelled "DIEL".I have a copy of that page. The current Lutheran pastor let me look through and copy parts of the book. What line are you through?Do you have a gedcom file you'd be willing to share?
Mike
