Samuel C. Deal -Union County S.C. 1833-1915

I am trying to help my son-in-law with his Deal side of the family. I am looking for the parents and ancestors of Samuel C. Deal born August, 1833. One census says he was born in South Carolina, another says he was born in North Carolina.Samuel was married twice. I don't know the name of the first wife, but the second wife was Eliza Jane Johnson. She was much younger that he. Their children included Milton A. born Feb.1891; Horace G. born March, 1893; Samuel P. born Feb.1897, James F. born March, 1898; Edna C. born 1903; Arthur born July 3,1905 and William Crawford, born either Jan. 6, 1899 or Oct. 6, 1890. I am guessing when I say that Samuels middle name may be Crawford.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
