Mahala Deal b. Nov. 5 1829 in Mason Co.VA was the second child of William Deal and his first wife, Elizabeth Black.William and Elizabeth were married on March 5, 1827 in Cabell Co. VA.He married Mary Conrad on June 20, 1842 and had 11 more children with her.
The children of William Deal and Elizabeth were:
Stewart R. b. Jan.12 1828
Mahala b. Nov. 5 1829, Mason Co. VA.Married John Casey, Feb. 1 1855, Putnam Co. WV.
James P. b. May 24, 1831
Calphunnah b. May 9 1833
Christopher Columbus (Lum) b. Sept. 1 1835
Leftridge b. Feb. 12 1838
Martin Van Buren b. Oct. 19, 1840.
William Deal was the son of James Deal and Mary "Polly" Keaton.They were married on June 5 1798 in Patrick Co. VA. They had two children:
William b. June 25, 1800 and
Henry H. b. June 6, 1813.
My connecion to the line is through Williams second wife, Mary Conrad and their daughter, Victoria Deal.She was my great-great-grandmother.
