Seeking info about Absalom Deakins b.1833 married Temperence E. Shelton. Son of John B. Deakins and Margaret Adams. Brothers; William, George, Nathaniel, sisters: Elizabeth, Achsah. The family was from Sequatchie County, TN. Absalom left TN before the Civil War,lived in AR, later OK.Died and was buried in OK. They raised 9 children, Mary Adaline, Aschia, Emma, Nancy Jane, John M., Margaret, Prudence, Sylvester, and Newton Nathaniel. "Newt" being my grandfather.
I have more info I would be willing to share with 'relatives', but would also like more info as mine is not complete.
