This early data MAY connect to yours, possibly a generation (or 2)in between. There were Deakins in Washington Co. TN (next to Sullivan Co.) earlier:

NORTH CAROLINA LAND GRANTS IN TN, p. 11:
1783 Richard Deakins - Washington Co.

1819 TAX LISTS: Richard Deakins and James Deakins - Washington Co. TN

1830 CENSUS TN and/or 1832 TAX LISTS, Washington Co. - Deakins: Richard, Thomas Sr., Charles, Daniel, Absolum, Henry, James Sr., James Jr., John Sr., John Jr.

These were "hits" on the name on genealogylibrary.com.

TENNESSEE, THE VOLUNTEER STATE v. 1, p. 838: Richard Deakins an early settler in Unicoi Co. TN (formed from Washington and Carter counties)

A Richard Deakins of Prince George Co. MD was on a muster roll about 1757 in the French and Indian War (This one possibly son of John Deakins, d. 1744 whose will named a son Richard who was a minor then.)

If you find any links, or more on these early Richard Deakins, please e-mail me directly.
