I have a court record showing an Ambrose Deakins born abt 1762 married to a Victoria Sims. The record is a power of attorney is as follows:
"We, Ambrose Deakins, Victoria Deakins, wife of sd Ambrose (and one of the daughters and legatees of the late Joseph Sims of CC, decd), and Catharine Sims, another of the daughters and legatees of sd Joseph Sims, sd Ambrose, Victoria, and Catharine now residing in Prince William County, VA, for sundry good causes, appoint our trusty brother and well beloved friend, Francis Sims, another of the legatees and the eldest son and heir at law of sd Joseph Sims"

I don't know if this helps or not.

I would be interested in any information you have on the Deakins in Charles, Maryland.
