The 1808 census of Alexandria shows Ambrose Deakins, a sick man, living two houses from my ancestor, Mary Flemming (maiden name, Deakins/Deacons)widow of Hugh Flemming and formerly the wife of Joseph Seamons/Simmons. Ambrose Deakins/Deacons was married in Charles Co., MD, near the same time as Mary, above. This Ambrose can be found also in the records of King George Co., VA, and Prince William Co., VA. I am confident that he was the brother of my Mary Deakins/Deacons. Is anyone else connected to Ambrose???? I would like to find out more about this family.
