Edna Simon Levine (11/29/1910—4/7/1992) was a psychologist on the faculty of NYU. Her speciality was the field of deafness. She published extensively, but her best-known work may be her children's book, Lisa and her Soundless Word." She played an important role in the founding of the National Theatre of the Deaf. I have a photo, and have pulled what I've been able to find online—a list of her publications, some scraps of NTD history (I've read "Pictures in the Air" too), the "New York Times" obituary . . . there really ain't much. (I've obtained one good photo, a formal half-length portrait, from Gallaudet U. Archives.) She had no children; I have no idea if there are any relatives or friends. It can't hurt to ask!
