Deacon Family Genealogy Forum

Henry Deacon, the chemist and industrialist, was born on 30 July 1822 in London, but lioved and worked for most of hius life in or near Widnes, Lancashire. His career is described in a long article in the new Oxford Dictionary of National Biography and elsewhere. He married twice, to Emma Wade, who apparently died before the end of 1866, and to Caroline Rutt, who survived him when he died in 1876.
According to the DNB he had one daughter & two sons, but according to "CHEMICAL CLASSICS Some Founders of the Chemical industry Men to be remembered" he left seven sons and four daughters!
One of the sons was (Sir) Henry Wade Deacon, and the daughters included Ellen and Mary - but who were the opther eight? And surely some of thgem must have survived to adulthood, married and had children?
