Deacon Origins

We, the Dakins of Concord, MA, circa 1652, recently connected through DNA with the Deakynes of Delaware, another Colonial family. They believe they connect with a branch of the Deacons which in turn believes a Norman knight Baldwin D'Acquigny, circa 1066, is their ancient ancestor. Family surname books say Deakyne comes from Deacon and also say Dakin could derive from Deacon.

Are there any Deacons out there with this history?
