Baker's of Broad Creek Hundred
Posted by: Barbra Jean., Date: January 22, 2000 at 12:15:32

I am attempting to find the parents/siblings of a Purnell/Purnal/Pernel H. Baker, who was born 1765, I believe in Sussex Co., and was married to Sally (Sarah) Smith in about 1788. Sally was the daughter of Thomas and Rachel (Unknown) Smith. Thomas died before July 1, 1794 in Sussex Co., and had quite a sizeable estate that I am assuming was land, not necessarily money.

There were listed in the Broad Creek Hundred, a Clement, a James and a Handy Baker, along with Purnell. Does anyone know of the families of these other Baker men? I am thinking that they are most likely Purnell's kin, but in what manner?
