Moses Dodd apparently had at least one other son. The Peninsular News & Adviser Newspaper of Delaware had the following article, printed on May 2, 1862:
William Dodd, a young man lately from Sussex County Delaware, the son of Moses Dodd, was killed in the battle at Pittsburg Landing on Monday, 7th of April. He was in the 11th Indiana Regiment.
Civil War Records lists only one William Dodd who was in the 11th Indiana Regiment: William H.H. Dodd - Co. K, Rank of Corporal.
Considering that the newspaper sited him as a "young" man,he was probably like most of the men who were in their 20's..no doubt born in the 1840's.
