Article Title: The Sun

Article Date: March 31 1881

Article Description: Small Pox in Lower Delaware"

Article Text:

Georgetown, Del., March 29, 1881:
The smallpox in Baltimore hundred continues to spread and people are leaving the infected district in large numbers. The undertaker in the district will not personally superintend further burials. He now simply makes the coffin and delivers it within three hundred yards of the residence of the deceased and the family or friends are required to carry it to the house and bury the corpse. No quarentine has been established as yet, but the people of Frenkford say they will establish a quarentine as soon as their Act of Incorporation, now pending in Legislature, become a law. The infected district is the richest agricultural one in the state and the disease, if it is not checked, may prevent the growing of a corn crop.
