At that time period in Sussex County, Delaware most Methodist churches ran in circuits (moving from house to another), instead of being held in one church because they didn't have the money to build them. It is most likely that they were married at the minister's or someone else home. In my family from 1832 to the mid-1870's, they went to the minister's home to be married. On rare occasions the minister may have come to them.
