James Alexander (b 1749 in Chester County, PA) married Elizabeth Ross (b 1753 in Delaware) in 1772 in Pennsylvania I believe. He was a weaver by trade. They had 11 children. He served in the Rev. War under his brother John. One of James' children was my g g g grandfather Horatio Gates Alexander. James moved his family to NC about 1778. He is buried with his wife outside of Stateville, Iredale County, NC.
