Looking for any information regarding Maiden Plantation, reportedly located about 8 miles out from Lewes in the Broadkill area in the early 1700's. Our ancestors, Isaiah Harrison (a blacksmith) and his family owned the Maiden Plantation for a number of years after moving down from Oyster Bay, Long Island, NY, then later moved on to settle in the Shenandoah Valley and within a couple of generations establish the town of Harrisonburg, now located in Rockingham County. Any clues whatsoever, especially regarding the location or possible location of the Maiden Plantation would be great. We also understand that a couple of the Harrison children married while in Sussex County, and may well have stayed on for at least a few years in Deleware after the rest of the clan moved on to Virginia. If any of you are researching Harrison's of Isaiah's line, we'd enjoy sharing information with you. Thanks! Donna & Joel Duprey Notify Administrator about this message?
