Figured this was a quicker way to pass on a nugget I found. Am out of town and my e-mail addresses are on the main machine.

Seems that the "odd" GODDARD, Langden / Langland was married to an Anna COTTINGHAM, daughter of Thomas and Mary COTTINGHAM of Somerset Co. MD.

"George HEY (husband of Sarah) and Langland GODDARD petition the court of Somerset County saying they have married the daughters of Thomas COTTINGHAM who died intestate, and want the court to make a division of his personal estate." 13 August 1696 in Somerset Co MD

This is interesting in light of the only other extended item I have seen on this gentleman:

Cheesemans Chance: William CHEESEMAN and w Jane to William STEVENS, 40a [now called Glaziers Hall]. William STEVENS left to wife Elizabeth who married George LAYFIELD. George and Elizabeth LAYFIELD sold to Langdon GODDARD who sold to George HEY. 16 May 1682 in Somerset Co MD
