Ann Marley dau of Adam & Rosannah Marley
Ann Marley dau of Adam & Rosannah Marley was born 1756 in Delaware and some say she married a "Hall". As far as I know no one has found a record of this marriage or Hall's first name. No one has found Ann's death date or place. I am confident that I have solved that mystery based on circumstantial evidence.
Ann Marley and Levi Isaac Hall were both raised in New Castle County, Delaware at the same time. No record of Levi's marriage has been found.
Ann and her parents and Levi and his parents moved to Orange Co, NC after 1760.
Levi and his father are found in separate homes in 1779 Orange Co, NC tax list, the 1790 & 1800 Orange Co, NC census.
Based on dob of Levi's children (1777,1779,1785, and 1794 I place their marriage @ abt 1775 which put Ann at age 19 and Levi at 28.
Levi Hall moved to Sumner Co, TN between 1800 and 1806.
In keeping with the English naming tradition Levi' first son was named James after Levi's father. In that same tradition the second son should have been named after Ann', father Adam Marley. Well the second son was Marley. I believe that his name was Adam Marley Hall and that he prefered Marley over Adam. The name Marley as a first name was practically unheard of in those days.
I'd like some feedback on this.
