From Google News:

Newspaper: The Delmarvia Star, Wilmington, Delaware.
Sunday, February 27, 1916.

"PETTICREW--The grim hand of death claimed another victim this week when Matthew Petticrew, Sr., succumbed to pneumonia. Mr. Petticrew was taken ill one week ago with a heavy cold, which later developed into pneumonia. The deceased was a native of County Antrim, Ireland. He emigrated to this country 45 years ago and settled in Wilmington. For 42 years he has been employed by the Pusey & Jones Co., and his loss will be keenly felt by that concern. He was a member of St. Paul's R.C. Church and affiliated with the Holy Name Society of that church. Of a lovable, kind disposition, he won himself many friends, especially among the younger set.

In his death the city loses a highly respected citizen; his family a kind and loving husband and an indulgent father and the community a staunch and faithful friend.

Besides his widow, who before her marriage was Miss Anna O'Donnell, he is survived by five daughters: Mrs. James A. Dougherty, Mrs. H. Miller Smith, Kathryn, Alice, and Margaret Petticrew, and by one son, Matthew Petticrew, Jr.

The funeral will take place from his late residence, No. 1101 West Fourth street, tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock. Requiem mass will be said in St. Paul's R.C. Church and interment will be made in Cathedral cemetery."
