CORRECTION_______________________ Abel Davis 11 who purchased land in Monongalia Co., VA arrived there about 1789 and bought a 10 acre plot of land where he followed his trade as a cooper. John Davis, Abel 11's son, provided family data to the 1880 census of White Co., IN noting that his father was born in Maryland.

Abel Davis 1 [c1725-1790]executed his will on 13 Apr 1780. On 9 Apr 1790 Hugh Glasford a witness to Abel 1's will testified to that fact in probate of the will of Abel Davis 1. To his daughter Rachel he bequeathed the sum of 5#. To Sarah, his wife i/3 of his estate; to son Benjamin two shares of the remiander; and to daughters, Many and Hannah & son, John 1 share as their full part and portion of his estate.

On 4 Jun 1795 Sarah Davis, widow, excuted he will. Sarah Davis died before 9 Jan 1796 as witness to here will, Sam McGregor, testified at the probate hearing. Son John to receive her best bed & bedding then <Fells Point> along with best curtains, house bible and volume of Dr. Bates works. Dau. Rachel-the sum of 5#. Grand dau. Sarah Perry bed & bedding then in Philadelphia. G.Dau. Mary Perry tea table in Philadelphia. To her Dau. Mary- black walnut dining table & curtains and one set of set of china ware. Rachel , Mary & Hannah to receive table linnen(sic, wearing apparel to daughters Rachel, Mary and Hannah to be divided equally. Grandchildren, Abel, Sarah and Hannah Davis children of son Benjamin 7 shillings & 6 pence each to be paid to their guardian on year,"asfter my decease". Her remaining pewter & cash to remain to be equally divided between son Johnand dau.'s Mary & Hannah. Son John & dau. Mary appointed executor.

Abel Davis 11, b. ca 1768 was probably the son of one of Abel I's brothers as Abel 1 & Sarah (Griffith) Davis were m. in 1752. MORE.
