Looking for any information about Peter C. Schenck & family. Peter was born about 1812 in NJ, married Rebecca Harris, 20 Aug 1833, Somerset Co. NJ. Peter worked as a saddle & harness maker in Hunterdon County, NJ. They had at about 12 children including Thomas (b. 1836) who also worked as a saddlemaker and Martin L. (b. 1848) whose wife was named Beulah.
Peter bought, Dec 1, 1874, the "Dutch House" in New Castle. He worked there as a saddle maker until at least 1880. The house was deeded to S. Beulah Schenck in 1883 who lost it in a sheriff's auction in 1900.
Looking for Peter's ancestors and his death particularly.
