Hi again, Lisa,
I'm forwarding the following message from the Delaware Genealogical Society. It contains info about a website you may want to monitor as it develops.
Catholic Parish Records, Wilmington DE, 1796-1910
Two cousins with early Irish connections in Wilmington have just placed on
their Web site a searchable database of all names in the previously unindexed
baptism register of the Catholic Cathedral Parish of St. Peter (Wilmington
DE) for the years 1829-1849. Also included in the data base are extracts
from earlier and later baptism and marriage registers of St. Peter, St. Paul
and St. Mary parishes (also Wilmington DE) for 19 surnames Lalley extracted
in earlier research. The database contains records covering over 2,000
The site is <http://www.lalley.com>. It provides easy access to the early
records of St. Peter parish, which are on Family History Library Microfilms
1787748 (baptisms 1796-1907, marriages 1796-1834, and a typed index to
persons baptized 1885-1929) and No. 1787872 (marriages 1829-1910).
The project's originators are Joseph Lalley, the dedicated transcriber, who
lives in Asheville NC and his cousin Michael Carroll, a gifted computer
consultant of Co. Galway, Ireland. They have recruited several other
volunteers who are now working on the unindexed St. Peter baptism register
for 1849-1869, and will then take on the marriage registers.
