I'm not related but have wondered about Thomas Tucker living with the Jacobs in 1880. I'm wondering if there aren't two Benjamin Jacobs being mixed up here. Strange that no 1860 Census data is available but I have seen that before as the result of the Census taker's spelling and the transcribers errors. Probably there but misspelled. I don't see other Jacobs in that Census record.
I find Benjamin F. Jacobs b. 3-10-1848 d. 10-18-1917 listed in Dill's Cemetery Records. Buried at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna, DE. There are many Jacobs there. Benjamin is lot 312. Lydia L. b.1873 d. 1954 and Wife of John W. Jacobs is also buried at lot 312. Also, a 4 month 22 day old child of theirs, Irene is lot 312.
The Benjamin in the 1950 Census would be would have been born abt June 1850. Age 3 mos and Census date is Sept 11, 1850. Here is the transcription from ancestry.com.
