Abraham West - mother born in Delaware?

Back in 1998, I posted a message (#125) requesting information on Abraham West and his wife (Elizabeth Huntley West). This long-married (73 years) couple lived and died in Philadelphia PA. I have been fortunate in the last 12 years to find additional information on them, but have also encountered new questions.

We now have a copy of Abraham's "Return of a Death" (ROD) record and know he was born Oct 1, 1807. For many years, we thought he was born in PA, but the ROD indicates he was born in New York, with his father born in New York and his mother in Delaware. Abraham died April 9, 1903 at the ripe old age of 95y, 6m, 9d.

Census records (in Philadelphia) note in 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 that he was born in New York, but the 1900 Census says PA.

I have no idea where to start in NY. Based on Census listings, Abraham's mother was also named Elizabeth (and she lived past age 92, according to 1870 Census). Abraham had a sister Eliza (Census records reflect her being born in PA or Philadelphia.) I have yet to find other siblings.

Any help or clues would be greatly appreciated.
