Hi David: I have no knowledge of William BURRIS b. ca 1737 at this time. I haven't gotten back any farther than my g-grandfather Edward BURRIS b. 1812. I am hopeful that I will get that info in the near future. On the matter of Sussex Co., MD. I think someone gave you the "wrong scoop". They may been confused about the lines, etc. I am familar with that matter as the town that I grew up in, Brideville, DE was originally in Maryland. However, I would assume it would have been Caroline Co., MD because that is the next town in Maryland going in that direction. Any information gathered on Edward BURRIS b. 1812 will be greatly appreciated and I will let you know if I come across anything on Wm. BURRIS. Additionally....did you know that there is a town called BURRISVILLE about 3 miles from Centerville, MD? Its pronounced BURRSVILLE....think it's Queen Anne Co., MD. There is also a town that is called BURRSVILLE, near Caroline Co., MD The towns were so named because there were several BURRIS families that lived there ca 1790. Thanks and take care.
